Thomas Leonard Harrold (1902-1973) was born in San Diego, California. He received his commission from West Point in 1925, and served in the Philippines from 1930 to 1932. He commanded Combat Command "A", 9th Armored Division from 1943 to 1945. After World War II, he was deputy commanding general of XVI Corps in 1952 and 1953, and the 10th Division in 1953 and 1954. He later served as Commandant of the National War College from 1958 to 1961. He retired as a lieutenant general in 1961. ...

July 25, 1981), U.S. Air Force officer, a graduate of Purdue University, enlisted in the Army as a flying cadet and attended flying school, receiving a commission in 1930.
